CELEBRATING 15 YEARS OF SOFO TAP
2026 marks fifteen years of The SoFo Tap, the second bar in what would grow into 2Bears Tavern Group. We are celebrating a decade and a half in Andersonville the only way that feels right, with a full weekend of parties with the community that made all of it possible. The celebration kicks off Thursday, July 16th and runs straight through the weekend. We cannot wait to celebrate it with you!
🐾 Fifteen Years and Counting
Fifteen years in, The SoFo Tap is Chicago's Bear Bar and a second home for the many in the LGBTQIA+ community. One of the first dog-friendly bars in Andersonville, we pride ourselves on a no-attitude space welcoming all, with weekly programming and great specials that keep the place buzzing all week long.
The creation of The SoFo Tap is rooted in GRRR, our flagship Friday night bear party, along with the original DILF and Doggy Days. As we've grown up we've added Bear Trap, Lumbersexual, and KOK to the recurring line up. Add to that Sunday Bearaoke, the perennially packed Nerd Bear Trivia on Wednesdays, and who can miss a Sunday Funday on the patio. And look for new parties coming to Clark & Argyle all year!

The Kickoff Party
We are getting things started with a 15-Year Happy Hour to get the whole weekend rolling with $5 You Call It's all day and night! Come raise a glass or several with us and toast to a decade and a half in Andersonville. We'll be featuring none other than DJ Moose, our long-time resident DJ who has brought the sounds and fun to DILF, Lumbersexual, Patio Beef, and some of the throwbacks like Stag and NSFW!
GRRR Bear Night
Our flagship weekly bear party, going strong since 2011, takes over at 9pm. Come out for GRRR and enjoy $6 Premium Well Cocktails and $8 Well Cocktails. Music by DJ Bearbie, who has been our chief GRRR beartender for 12 years now!
The Anniversary
Our official 15 year anniversary is Saturday so we are making a full day of it. Doggy Days runs from 12pm to 3pm, so bring your dogs along and enjoy the afternoon with us. Then, once the sun goes down, Bear Trap takes over at 9pm with music by our resident DJ Tracy McKenzie, with $7 Signature Margaritas and $8 WYNK drinks all night long. Bears and chasers, oh my!
Sunday Funday & Bearaoke
We are closing out the weekend the right way. Sunday Funday runs from 12pm to 3pm, and we are serving up free hot dogs while supplies last. All day long you can enjoy $6 Premium Well Cocktails, $7 Signature Margaritas, and $8 WYNK drinks. Then stick around, because Bearaoke is taking over with your host, the one and only Rhett Butlah.
