We are Chicago's neighborhood LGBTQIA+ Bear Bar - built on a foundation of radical welcome, community care, and zero tolerance for anything that makes our guests feel unsafe.
Vision
To be an inviting and vital neighborhood LGBTQIA+ Bear Bar that serves as a preeminent gathering place and a catalyst for growth and development to the South of Foster (SoFo) area of Andersonville, Chicago.
Mission
In the tradition of Chicago's great neighborhood bars, The SoFo Tap provides an environment that welcomes and entertains a diverse clientele, with a focus on our LGBTQIA+ Bear community, through engaging and unique programming, beverage options, and a dog-friendly indoor and outdoor space.
We employ a friendly, customer-focused staff and provide a classically comfortable Chicago tavern atmosphere. We support charitable organizations and sports leagues within our customers' communities - and our guests are a diverse mix of socially accepting neighborhood residents and members of the broader LGBTQIA+ community who seek a fun, relaxed, no-attitude Bear Bar.
We are and always will be a place for people to come and be themselves.
Zero Tolerance Drug Policy
The SoFo Tap is committed to being a safe, drug-free environment for every guest who walks through our doors. We take the safety and comfort of our community seriously - and that means a strict zero tolerance policy.
This policy exists to protect our guests, our staff, and the community we've built together. If you see something, say something - speak to any staff member or bartender.
